Under Moroccan law. We process personal information in accordance with Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and its implementing decree. We process your information with your consent, or without consent where the processing is necessary to perform a contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, to comply with a legal obligation, to protect your vital interests, or for our legitimate interests where these do not override your interests and fundamental rights.

- Legitimate Interests. We may process your information when it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests and those interests do not outweigh your interests and fundamental rights and freedoms, for example to analyze how our website is used so we can improve it, to support our marketing activities, and to diagnose problems and/or prevent fraudulent activities.
- Legal Obligations. We may process your information where it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations, such as accounting and tax requirements, cooperating with a law enforcement body or regulatory agency, or exercising or defending our legal rights.
- Vital Interests. We may process your information where it is necessary to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of a third party, such as situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person.
We are the "data controller" (responsable du traitement) of the personal information described in this privacy notice, since we determine the means and purposes of the processing we perform. Our website links to third-party websites and services, such as Instagram, WhatsApp, university websites and application portals, and embassy and visa application centre websites. We do not make any guarantee regarding any such third parties, and we will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by the use of such third-party websites, services, or applications. The inclusion of a link towards a third-party website, service, or application does not imply an endorsement by us. Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this privacy notice. You should review the policies of such third parties and contact them directly to respond to your questions.
06Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?
In Short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store information. Our website uses Google Tag Manager, which may load analytics and other tags provided by Google or other providers. 07How do we handle WhatsApp and social media?
In Short: If you contact us through WhatsApp or social media, the platform will also process your information.
We offer consultations and support by WhatsApp, and we share content on Instagram. When you message us on WhatsApp, we receive your phone number, profile name and the messages and documents you send. These platforms are operated by third parties (such as Meta Platforms) that process your information under their own privacy notices. We do not control, and are not responsible for, their use of your information. We recommend that you avoid sending highly sensitive documents (such as passport scans or bank statements) by WhatsApp where we have offered you a more secure method.
08Is your information transferred internationally?
In Short: We transfer your information to countries outside Morocco where this is needed to deliver your Services.
We are based in Morocco. Our website is hosted by SiteGround, a third-party hosting provider, on servers located in the United States. Because our Services involve applying to universities and for visas abroad, your information will be transferred to recipients in the destination countries you choose, including Turkey, Poland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, and China, and to our website hosting provider in the United States.
Under Law No. 09-08, we transfer personal information outside Morocco only where the destination country provides an adequate level of protection, where the CNDP has authorized the transfer, or where an exception applies, such as your express consent or where the transfer is necessary to perform the Services you have requested. Some of these countries may not have data protection laws as comprehensive as those in your country. However, we will take all necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this privacy notice and applicable law.
09How long do we keep your information?
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, in accordance with Law No. 09-08, unless a longer retention period is required by law. In particular:
- Contracts, invoices, payment and accounting records: 10 years, as required by Moroccan commercial and accounting law
- Enquiries, client files, applications, visa documents, and copies of identity, financial and sensitive documents: only for as long as needed to provide the Service and to handle any related dispute or legal obligation, after which they are deleted or returned
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible. Original documents you give us are returned to you.
10How do we keep your information safe?
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process, including limiting access to client files to staff who need it, and keeping physical documents at our office secure. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk.
11Do we collect information from minors?
In Short: Where a student is under 18, we process their information only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Where a student is under 18, we process their personal information only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who must sign the Service Agreement and may exercise the student’s privacy rights on their behalf. We may ask for proof of parental consent before providing any Service. If we learn that we have collected information from a student under 18 without parental consent, we will take reasonable measures to obtain consent or delete the data. If you become aware of any such data, please contact us at info@atlas-scholars.com.
12What are your privacy rights?
In Short: Under Moroccan law and, where applicable, other privacy laws, you have rights that allow you access to and control over your personal information.
Under Law No. 09-08, you have the right (i) to be informed about the processing of your personal information, (ii) to access your personal information and obtain a copy of it, (iii) to request the rectification, updating, blocking or deletion of inaccurate, incomplete or unlawfully processed information, and (iv) to object, on legitimate grounds, to the processing of your personal information, and to object free of charge to its use for marketing. You can make such a request by contacting us using the details in How can you contact us about this notice?.
We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to the Moroccan data protection authority, the CNDP (https://www.cndp.ma).
Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us using the details provided in How can you contact us about this notice?. If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at info@atlas-scholars.com.
13Controls for Do-Not-Track features
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.
14Do users outside Morocco have specific privacy rights?
In Short: You may have additional rights based on the country you reside in.

If you are located in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you may also have the right to restrict the processing of your personal information, to data portability, and not to be subject to automated decision-making. You also have the right to complain to your Member State data protection authority (https://edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en), the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (https://ico.org.uk), or the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (https://www.edoeb.admin.ch), as applicable.
